how can we inhabit islands in ways that respect the land, the sea, their residents (notably those who were here before us), and the cultures that continue to shape everyday life?

The books are cultivated to feed our minds with decentralised imaginaries where resilience is built through collective action, responsibilities, and a commitment to building joyful futures.

Together, the collection invites slow reflection and critical dialogue, encouraging readers to reimagine island life as a practice of care, reciprocity, and shared stewardship.

參考國際盛事「Maker Faire」的模式，旨在讓不同領域的創作者聚集，展示他們的創新作品和故事，從而鼓勵創意和實作。「在地製造 — Maker Fest」將會於歷史悠久的香港仔漁港舉行，通過 Maker 的種種參與，從日常生活和社區文化開始，分享他們所造所學，讓到訪者體會動手造 (Do It Yourself) 的魅力，本是一種源自於日常生活的自然回應。
